Snowmageddon

Call of Duty but, like, with snowballs. And it's top-down, 2D.

This was one of my first big personal vibe coding projects. A little game made in Godot where kids are having a snowball fight, trying to capture checkpoints a lá Call of Duty. There is just one map for now, but there are different units (soldier, medic, and builder). Soldiers throw snowballs, medics heal, and builders can construct walls.

I knew absolutely nothing about making games. I started asking Claude about how things worked, what best practices were, and how to go about this iteratively. I pulled together articles on best practices in Godot and made a Claude skill to help with development. I built my character sprites with Nano Banana 2.

To build out something that would entertain me for a few rounds, I worked with Claude Code to give the opposing team basic AI that would make them try to take checkpoints, retreat when being overwhelmed, and know how to use their builders and medics.
